MOTOCLUB TENNO TALKS AHEAD OF SNOWCROSS SEASON OPENER IN LAVARONE
By Youthstream | 20 Feb 2009

FUNCHAL (PORTUGAL), 20 February 2009 - There is just a week left before the exciting FIM Snowcross World Championship takes off from Italy's snow resort Lavarone (around Trento).

March 1 will mark an historical date for the series which is heading to the peninsula for its very first time. The organizer Motoclub Tenno and their secretary Mr. Paolo Pellegrini are looking forward to this important meeting.

MOTOCLUB TENNO-HISTORY

“Motoclub Tenno has been involved with snowmobiles for something like 24 years,” started Mr. Pellegrini. “In 1985 our coordinator took on a Snowcross race just for the fun of it but it immediately became our passion. After that event, which was on the 6th of March in Passo del Ballino, we decided to organize another one in 1986 at Andalo. This time we cooperated with the GLO organization and Mr. Giuseppe Luongo in order to achieve better results. From then on we never stopped organizing Snowcross races and we even managed to take the UEM Championship events to places such as beautiful Campiglio. By the way, our Motoclub owns a Motocross track and we have been involved also in some Speedway events.

FIRST TIME OF SNOWCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN ITALY

“The one in Lavarone will be the first World Championship race in Italy and it is such a great honor for us that we are working no-stop to make it an unforgettable day for the fans, the sponsors, the teams, the riders and everybody else who is involved.

PERFECT CONDITIONS TO ORGANIZE THE RACE

“We have been talking about the World Championship since years and finally we decided 2009 was going to be the right year to organize it. The snow was perfect, the local authorities promised their support, basically the overall set up was already there and we decided to take this step forward.

ADDED VALUE BY MOTOCLUB TENNO

“Motoclub Tenno is very well settled into the networks of the Trentino area, I think this brings some advantages. For instance yesterday we presented the event at the Cantine Ferrari, one of the main wine producers in Italy, as the presentation both introduced the event to the press and also showed them the key aspects of our territory such as the professional wine making-Cantine Ferrari will also provide the Magnum di Ferrari Brut for the podium.

“Basically we want to give people an example of good organization, we want to involve as many people as possible to spread the passion for Snowcross which we have since 1985.

ADDED VALUE OF THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

“Organizing the World Championship is surely a challenge but the series offers great benefits. Courtesy of the TV coverage brought in by Youthstream we have more appeal on our partners and we can spread their image, the image of Lavarone, of Trentino and of our Motoclub worldwide. We really hope to put in a good show which people will remember for a long time, this is what Motoclub Tenno can do.

SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR THE RACE DAY

“Snowcross events are held in the cold, this is inevitable. We know the spectators might have a tough time due to the temperatures but our entertaining program will keep them busy and warm. In between the races and practices we planned on doing an air show with special planes and helicopters, we have a nice hospitality service offering hot drinks and food, there will be a display area with the main Snowmobiles such as Ski-Doo, Lynx and Polaris. Everyone is invited to join us on March 1!” ended Mr. Pellegrini.

The opening round of the FIM Snowcross World Championship will be on Sunday March 1 in Lavarone di Trento, it will be surely an event to attend.
