By Andreja Prel | 26 Feb 2009

FUNCHAL (PORTUGAL), 26th February 2009 - Italian Motoclub Tenno is the organizer of the opening event for the FIM Snowcross World Championship in the season 2009.

This will be first of the three events that will give us the name of the new Snowcross World Champion at the end of March. Riders will start the season in Lavarone. It is the municipality in the province of Trento in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige. This is the important moment in the rich history of the local Organizer. Motoclub Tenno organizes Snowcross events since 1985, but this time they will hold the World Championship event for the first time. At the same time it will be the first snowcross World Championship event in Italy.

Sunday will be indubitably very interesting day for all the adrenalin lovers. On the starting line there will be also top three snowcross riders from the past season: World Champion Emil Ohman (Sweden), World Vice-Champion Viktor Stenman (Sweden) and the third best rider Niko Korsumaeki from Finland. All of them are already experienced riders. For everyone who will attend the event it will be the real enjoyment to watch them riding. Luckily the Organizer does not have problems with the snow and because of the winter temperatures they have perfect conditions for preparing the race track.

Secretary of the Motoclub Tenno Mr. Paolo Pellegrini has promised entertaining program for spectators, fans and for everybody who will come to see the big and also cold event. They are planning to have the air show and many other interesting things, that will keep a warm atmosphere during both races.
