RIDERS ARE ON THE WAY TO THE NORWEGIAN WINTER PARADISE

FUNCHAL (PORTUGAL), 4 March 2009 - The FIM Snowcross World Championship will continue this Saturday in Oppdal, Norway. The second event will be organized by the local club Snohetta MK Oppdal.

  

Oppdal is an alpine municipality with strong and important history. It is located 420 kilometres North from the Norwegian capital Oslo. In the history it was the important traffic way from Trondheim to Dovrefjell mountain range. Most of Oppdal's area is mountainous. There are perfect natural conditions for the winter sports.

 

 

Riders will compete at the 900 metres long race track, called Oppdal. The snow level is about one meter, the organizer is ready and riders are on the way to their second event. The organizer Snohetta MK Oppdal will arrange also some interesting show programme for spectators. Of course the biggest dainty will be the best snowcross riders in the World. At the head of the best riders will be the Championship leader and defender of the Title Emil Oehman from Sweden. After the first event he has two points of advantage infront of Finnish rider Niko Korsumaeki. The best Norwegian rider is Jostein Biti, who is eighth at the moment. He will have the company of thirteen other riders from Norway. There are many interesting names at the entry list. A question is, what can do young Petter Narsa, who surprised at the openning event. The organizer expects a crowd of spectators and hopes for the good weather.

 

 

The event will start on Saturday morning with the Free Practices, it will continue at 12.00 with two Qualifying Races. The race will start at 14.00.

10.15-10.25 – First Free Practice Group 1, 10.30-10.40 – First Free Practice Group 2, 10.45-10.55 – Second Free Practice Group 1, 11.00-11.10 – Second Free Practice Group 2

 

12.00 – Qualifying Race Group 1 (10 min + 2 laps)

12.20 – Qualifying Race Group 2 (10 min + 2 laps)

13.00-13.15 – Last Chance Qualifying Practice

 

14.00 – FIRST RACE (15 min + 2 laps)

15.00 – SECOND RACE (15 min + 2 laps)
