FUNCHAL (PORTUGAL), 26 March 2009 - Swedish winter center Mala will be the last stop for the FIM Snowcross World Championship in this season.

There will be crowned the FIM Snowcross World Champion 2009. Mala is located in the Northern part of Sweden. It has around 1600 registered snowmobiles.

There are 14 home Swedish riders on the entry list. Two of them are in the top three after first two events. The current leader is Finnish rider Niko Korsumaeki, who would like to finish his career with the World Championship Title. Peter Ericson (Sweden), the World Champion from seasons 2006 and 2007 is only two points behind. The Snowcross World Champion 2008, another Swedish rider Emil Ohman will attack his rivals with nine points of arrears to the leading position. All of them are main candidates to win the Championship.

Also on the fourth position there is home rider, the big surprise of the season Petter Narsa. Sixteen year old rider can still finish his first World Championship season in the top three, although he will need to make up ten points. There are four more Swedish riders in the top 10 Classification: Dan Lang, Viktor Stenman, Fredrik Granberg and Adam Renheim. Besides them spectators will enjoy watching riders from Norway, Finland, Iceland, Italy and USA.

The final event will start this Saturday morning with free practices and continue at 12. with the Qualifying races. The first race will start at 14.00 while the last act of the season 2009 will happen at 15.00.
